Heat Rash During Pregnancy – Risks And Treatments

Heat rash can be a serious issue in extremely hot weather that can affect your daily routines because of excessive irritation and itchiness. In the hot and humid weather, this situation is exaggerated. When a woman is pregnant, her risk of getting affected by heat rash increases because of the hormonal changes and increased body temperature. Along with an itchy or prickly feeling, the women may see small spots, redness, and even swelling. Here you will find some pregnancy-safe home remedies for heat rash.

Stay cool:

When your skin is more prone to heat rash it’s important to keep it cool to avoid sweat and overheating.

  • Wear light clothes
  • Take showers more often 
  • Stay hydrated by having more water and non-caffeine drinks

Moisturize your skin and avoid dryness:

During pregnancy, your skin is at higher risk of getting dry so this will welcome more episodes of heat rash which you need to prevent and treat as well. So moisturize your skin more often to lock its natural moisture.

Try an oatmeal bath:

Oatmeal bath is an effective remedy for dry and itchy skin. Simply add a small number of oats to a piece of cloth and secure it well. Then add it to your bathtubs and stay there for a few minutes. Oats help to moisturize the skin. Soak yourself in the tub for around 20 minutes for the best results.
