An exercise is a form of physical stress. Now the question is can physical stress help relieve mental stress?

While you perform physical exercise your body releases hormones that make you feel relaxed and happy as well. There are several forms of exercise that you can perform to run far away from the stressful condition.

One form is muscular meditation which involves using large muscle groups in a rhythmic, repetitive fashion. Walking and jogging are prime examples. Even a simple 20-minute stroll can clear the mind and reduce stress. But some people prefer vigorous workouts that burn stress along with calories. And the same stretching exercises that help relax your muscles after a hard workout will help relax your mind as well.
